Cybersecurity is no longer just a technological issue - it is a strategic asset that protects value, reputation, and continuity. Organizations operate within a digital ecosystem where innovation and risk evolve in parallel. Protecting data and identities is now the first step toward ensuring trust, efficiency, and competitive advantage.

Cyber threats on the rise

In 2025, cyberattacks have evolved to become faster, more targeted, and, in many cases, powered by artificial intelligence. This reality makes detection more complex and reinforces the importance of robust defense strategies. Among the most persistent threats are phishing, ransomware, and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, while the exploitation of vulnerabilities within supply chains continues to expand globally.  In Portugal, the National Cybersecurity Center (CNCS) reported in its latest annual report a significant increase in incidents across the national cyberspace during 2024, highlighting the growing exposure of both public and private entities to cyberattacks. Although the report does not disclose the exact number of incidents, it emphasizes that the evolution of threats demands continuous monitoring and the implementation of resilience measures tailored to each organization’s digital reality.  At the European level, the ENISA Threat Landscape 2025 report indicates that between July 2024 and June 2025, 4,875 incidents were analyzed across EU Member States. The study shows that cyberattacks continue to affect multiple sectors and that the sophistication of attackers’ techniques increases every year, making investment in cybersecurity a strategic imperative for businesses and public institutions alike.

Globally, the cyber threat landscape has intensified significantly: in 2024, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recorded 859,532 cybercrime complaints, with reported losses exceeding US$16.6 billion - a rise of around 33% compared to 2023.  According to the Microsoft Digital Defense Report 2025, Microsoft processes more than 100 trillion security signals daily, blocks around 4.5 million new malicious files, analyzes 38 million identity risk detections, and inspects 5 billion emails to mitigate phishing and malware.  These figures illustrate the immense scale and sophistication of the cyberattacks organizations now face. Moreover, during the analysis period (July 2024–June 2025), more than 52% of cyberattacks with known motivations were linked to extortion or ransomware, reaffirming that cybercrime remains largely financially driven.

Security as a driver of trust and competitiveness

Cybersecurity has become an essential pillar of organizational resilience. Protecting systems, people, and information requires an integrated approach - combining advanced technology, robust processes, and a proactive security culture.

At ARMIS, we implement digital identity, access management, and data interaction monitoring solutions, integrating Microsoft Entra ID and Zero Trust models. Our team combines strategic consulting, process automation, and continuous monitoring to protect systems, ensure compliance, and enhance client productivity.

Investing in intelligent defense solutions, empowering teams, and adopting Zero Trust models are decisive steps toward ensuring operational continuity, market trust, and long-term sustainability. Security is no longer a cost – it is a competitive differentiator.

Identity and access management with enhanced confidence

Effective identity management is one of the cornerstones of digital protection. With technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID, organizations can manage the entire lifecycle of digital identities in a centralized and secure way, ensuring compliance and agility.

ARMIS is recognized by Microsoft as a recommended partner for Entra implementation projects - a distinction that reflects our proven experience in executing complex migrations, including transitions from SAP IDM to Entra. This expertise translates into more secure, efficient, and internationally aligned solutions.

Integration and modernization for continuous protection

Integrating on-premises and cloud enterprise applications is essential to building a cohesive and efficient security infrastructure. Modernizing identity and access architectures not only strengthens protection but also improves operational efficiency, allowing organizations to quickly adapt to new digital market demands.

The future of cybersecurity: from defense to adaptive intelligence

In 2026, cybersecurity will enter a new phase – more predictive, automated, and data-centric. Artificial intelligence will evolve from being merely a tool for attack or defense to becoming a continuous decision system, capable of anticipating threats and adjusting responses in real time.

In a context where digital trust is the new capital, organizations that embrace this vision will be better equipped to transform security into a true driver of innovation and sustainable growth. As a technology partner, ARMIS supports organizations in transforming cybersecurity into a competitive advantage - aligning digital protection and trust with strategic business objectives.  During European Cybersecurity Month, we reinforce that cybersecurity is not just about protection: it is about resilience, trust, and evolution - an essential element for organizations that aim to innovate and grow securely.
