The ASIASAFE project focuses on traffic safety on the road network as a growing health, social and economic problem worldwide.
Sónia Soares, ITS Consultant at ARMIS ITS, participated today in the group session "Data Management for ITS" with the presentation "Sharing data, saving lives: The benefits of ITS for improving road safety" of the ASIASAFE Workshop - a Development and Capacity Building Program in Traffic Safety in Asian Universities.
During the session, she spoke about ITS and the potential benefits for road safety and the importance of data sharing and harmonization, as well as the work that ARMIS is carrying out within the Enhanced EU-ASEAN Regional Dialogue Instrument (E-READI).
The ASIASAFE project focuses on traffic safety on the road network as a growing health, social and economic problem worldwide, considering that the World Health Organization estimates that about 1.3 million people die in road accidents.
