On June 14 and 15, ARMIS ITS was in Singapore, represented by Pedro Barradas, Lígia Conceição and Sónia Soares, at the 3rd EU-ASEAN Workshop, hosted by the Enhanced Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument (E-READI) and the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA).

The Workshop was organized between the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), with the goal of sharing knowledge between the two regions on ITS, information and communication technologies applied to the transport domain, such as infrastructure or traffic management, as well as discussing the challenges and opportunities for ITS development in the ASEAN region and cross-border collaboration.

This workshop focused on the presentation and validation of the findings and recommendations of the "ITS Study on the Recommendations for the Development of National ITS Master Plan and Workshop 3 Support". This study is dedicated to the assessment of ITS developments in ASEAN countries, considering existing regional, national, or local plans or programs. The objective is to provide a guide and recommendations on the steps to be taken by ASEAN Member States (AMS) to develop ITS Master Plans and to encourage collaboration among the various countries to promote interoperability of ITS implementation in the region.

The event was attended by 61 participants, both online and in person, including transport authorities from the AMS, representatives from the European Commission, the ASEAN Secretariat, experts and ITS professionals from Europe and Southwest Asia.

Pedro Barradas, ARMIS ITS CSO, presented the results of the ITS European Congress, in Lisbon, highlighting the main ideas and developments in this field. Also, as speaker at the Workshop, Ligia Conceição, ITS Consultant at ARMIS ITS, presented an overview of NAPCORE (National Access Point Coordination Organisation for Europe), a European project that involves all its Member States and promotes the efficient and interoperable publishing and sharing of mobility and transport data in Europe.
